From Inside
For this new exhibition (her eighth at Galerie Lelong), which she has titled "From Inside", Kiki Smith has assembled a group of new bronzes depicting hands, which she juxtaposes with two large emblematic works from the 1990s: wall sculptures of human figures, a male iceman and a female black virgin. She has added a series of delicate drawings from 1995 depicting female body parts, as well as a rare series from Prints: "Possession is nine-tenths of the law" from 1985. Thus, the artist shows the continuity and coherence of her work over the years.
