BRG (2020-2021)'.

José Guerrero's new series entitled BRG (2020-2021) is directly inspired by the architecture of Luis Barragán and linked to some extent to Italian metaphysical painting. As on previous occasions, Guerrero approaches ideas that transcend the very nature of the photographic medium, although in this series he distances himself from his classic landscapes to move even closer to pictorial abstraction through absolute control of composition, colour, light and atmosphere. The work on miniature architectural models, together with the necessary pre- and post-production, has helped the artist to delve deeper into fundamental questions present in all his previous work. Investigations that lead him to explore the documentary and abstract nature of the photographic medium; to tension the strange frontier between reality and its representation; to approach intrinsic aspects of painting from the field of the photographic image.
