Field of Presence
Campo de presencia is a journey through the best light interventions on the landscape that Javier Riera has made in the last two years, which is completed with an intervention on the wall of the gallery. A fundamental part of the exhibition are photographs taken with light and geometry on the humidity of the beach environment, which introduces a novel factor in the artist's usual works.
Space is understood in Riera's works as an active and transforming element, open to the perception of the essential dynamics of nature and to the recognition of its presence in ourselves. Geometry is the language capable of establishing subtle bridges between the interior and the exterior, opening the vision towards new experiences of perception. The title of the exhibition refers to Merleau-Ponty and his theory of space.
