Há mais água a entrar no solo'.
The gallery 3+1 Arte Contemporânea announces the opening of 'Há mais água a entrar no solo', the first solo exhibition of the artist Inês Brites at the gallery.
For this exhibition, the artist presents a collection of pieces that explore liquid matter, looking at objects in the light of her interest in mucous membranes and the flexible appearance of molluscs, reflecting her fascination with sea slugs (described by their peculiar shapes, textures, colours and transparencies, each species with one or several characteristics in a single body, all of which play an important role in their protection against predators). Inês Brites continues her investigation into the mundane, showing compositions of found objects and sculptures from her own personal archive. Her growing desire to experiment with new translucent materials is an attempt to find the characteristics of nudibranchs in objects with water, liquid or aquatic world.
