tierra is the opening exhibition of the new season at La Gran, which continues the cycle on landscape begun at the beginning of the year. In it Ignacio Pérez-Jofre develops the main interests that have characterised his work - the construction of the work from the urban route, experimentation in painting and interest in the trace and found materials.

By using the material collected in some parts of the city as the pigment with which he creates all the paintings in the exhibition, the artist directs all his attention to the earth - with its qualities of colour and texture - so that by itself, without further mediation, it is capable of transmitting plastic power and questioning the traditional romantic idea of Nature, as an unlimited, invulnerable entity and, above all, external to man.
