Mummmies' Memetic Desires'.

Mummies' Memetic Desires' focuses on the indigenous people of the Canary Islands, the Guanches, who inhabited the North Atlantic archipelago almost 2 million years ago. The Guanches mummified the most prominent members of society, whose remains are now on display and owned by the Museum of Nature and Archaeology.

The exhibition is a metaphorical "re-mummification" of Guanchian individuals. The artist visited and studied the mummies during her residency at the Galería Leyendecker in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the summer of 2021. The work incorporates photographs and digital paintings inspired by the experience of visiting the remains.
