Maria Sanchez - In My Dreams
Technique: Casting
Artist Biography: María Sánchez is a Spanish artist whose work focuses on the exploration of memory, identity and personal narrative through photography and video. Born in 1988, she graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca in 2010 and has since exhibited her work in numerous galleries and contemporary art festivals both in Spain and abroad. In her artistic practice, María Sánchez uses photography as a tool to explore her own memory and that of those around her. Through her images, the artist reflects on the construction of personal and collective identity, using photography as a means to explore the past and the present. Her works are composed of thematic series that often revolve around the idea of family, home and intimacy. One of the most outstanding characteristics of María Sánchez's work is her ability to combine photography with other disciplines, such as video and installation, creating works that invite the viewer to immerse themselves in intimate and often emotional worlds. In her series "La Casa", for example, the artist uses photography, video and installation to explore her own family history, creating a space in which everyday objects become metaphors for memory and identity. In short, María Sánchez is a contemporary Spanish artist who uses photography, video and installation to explore memory, identity and personal narrative. Through her work, the artist invites the viewer to reflect on her own relationship with the past and the present, creating a space of intimacy and reflection that becomes a reflection of the complexity of the human experience.Dream, in the midst of everything I dream, in spite of everything I dream, and you whisper... Wherever you go I'll look for you To my husband, thank you for always being by my side. This is perhaps the simplest and most important reflection, the value of the people who love you, whether it is your partner, your family or your friends. But how to express this has been a great challenge for me. In the end I have chosen to express it under the idea that those who love you well accompany you wherever you go, in a real way or through the certainty that they will always be there, at any time. For this reason I have not wanted to represent a concrete and real place, but the unreal world of dreams, which enhances the meaning of any place. In this way the work constitutes a set leaning on the wall formed by a figure resting on a profile that twists and flows representing the world of dreams. María Sánchez (Jaén, 1971) Multidisciplinary and restless artist, she works in drawing, painting and sculpture, where she finds her greatest expressive development. Although the human body is the central motif of her work, both her anatomy and the movement it generates, her works also represent a personal reflection on the woman of today, her concerns, reflections and desires through marked lines, volumes and blunt voids, as well as her own choice of material and composition. She has an extensive curriculum of competitions, contests and courses of specialization in sculpture. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and fairs at national and international level in countries such as Portugal, France, Italy, United Kingdom, United States, China, Denmark and Germany.
