Maria Santiso - I know you look at me but you don't see me.
Artist Biography: BIO & STATEMENT In the work of m.e.santiso (Madrid, Spain), the strokes of graphite, the tension of a tangled black thread and the texture of the lithographic pencil make thoughts visible. Art is her escape route to be able to put in order everything that stirs inside her. The female body is the common thread, the absence of dissuasive elements such as backgrounds or merely decorative elements an identity, since what she seeks is to focus on what she wants to capture without distractions. The artwork of m.e.santiso is an intimate work that seeks between what is captured and its titles to make the viewer reflect, invites you to rummage through the threads and strokes what is hidden beyond a first viewing. Unique Work. Work belonging to a binomial. We can look at people, believe that we know them by looking at them but we are not really seeing them, we are simply observers of a window, of a photogram that prevents us from really knowing the true being.
