Artist Biography: Debbie Reda was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1976, and lives and works in Madrid, Spain. Recording the influence of Arte Brut, drawing and painting in her childhood, the phenomenon of repetition appears in her abstract work, citing repetitive exercises when learning to draw as a child. Her "Monster Collection" is her Figurative Series that defines her cartoonish visual style as a Children's Neo-pop Art. The characters reflect humor and irony, different moods and circumstances of everyday life. Exploring his own childhood memories, particularly his relationship with his grandfather, his work cites the games, toys, playground and dreams of a child, discovering and seeing the world as if for the first time. His recognizable characters have their own story. They are monsters who came to earth on an expedition and fell in love with nature and human beings. Since then, they try to understand and imitate humans, until they come to resemble each other. They are unaware of negative feelings, always with a great sense of humor, positive thoughts and innocence they discover the world for the first time, and playing is the best way to do it. Debbie Reda is an internationally recognized artist. Her work is part of collections around the world. In October 2021, she was part of the Honorable Salon at the WWA Art Fair in Shanghai, ranked by votes of Chinese collectors as one of the most modern artists in the world.
