Claire de Santa Coloma's practice is mainly based on sculpture. Her work also includes drawings and compositions on paper. It is a response to her physical environment, framed in time and space. The focus of her work is always the very idea of sculpture itself, its possibilities of material realisation and how we relate to it. He employs certain affinities with the universe of 20th century abstract sculpture.

Torsion, balance, weight, display are some of the formal themes present throughout the history of western sculpture that she constantly addresses and applies. The relationship created between the viewer and the object is an important layer of reading in her work, as the interaction between the compositions and the settings in which the work is presented are of fundamental importance. The economy of a place and its context are part of her interventions.
