Daniel Arsham - Hollow Mickey
Artist Biography: Daniel Arsham, born in 1980 in the United States, is a visual artist. Raised in Miami, Florida, he studied at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, the city where he currently lives and works. The artist's quest is at the crossroads between art, architecture and performance. Eroded walls, landscapes, crowned structures, Daniel Arsham plays with spaces of shapes and volumes, in a practice where joy has its place. Alongside his personal creations, the artist creates original collaborations with choreographer Merce Cunningham for which he has created a scene. Subsequently, the two artists realize all performances in the United States, France and Australia. Other collaborations with choreographers continue, especially with Jonas Bokaer, leading to Daniel Arsham Festival in Avignon, among others. In 2013, the artist has collaborated with Pharrell Williams, by which he recreates his first volcanic ash keyboard.
