GERARD MAS - Lady of the clamp
Technique: Polychrome resin
Artist Biography: He studied at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos "Llotja" in Barcelona, specializing in sculpture and stone carving. He graduated as a conservator and restorer of sculpture at the "Escola Superior de Conservació i Restauració de Béns Culturals de Catalunya" in Barcelona. Gerard Mas' sculpture poses a dialogue between the contemporary and the classical world, between the past and the present. His sculptures use polychrome resin as a base to achieve their hyper-realistic appearance, but they play with bewilderment by means of decontextualized elements from different realities that coexist, challenging the logic of the receiver. Gerard Mas has exhibited internationally in places like Germany, United Kingdom or Portugal, and his work is present in collections such as Vilacasas Foundation, Espacio "Can Mario", Palafrugell, Girona MEFIC Collection (Museum of International Contemporary Figurative Sculpture), Murcia or the Foundation of Arts and Artists Barcelona.
