Artist Biography: José Antonio Vallejo is an artist born in Madrid in 1984, graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2008. Since 2007 he has been working on his project Mi juguete favorito, a work in progress that draws from his own experience and emotions. He had his first solo exhibition in 2009 and obtained a Master's degree in Art, Creation and Research in 2010, which has allowed him to strengthen his discourse and make the dolls that obsess him a representation of his personal diary through the artistic pieces he has created, whether through graphics, sculptures, installations or performances.Vallejo has participated in group exhibitions in galleries such as Báculo, Espacio8 and Menosuno, and his multidisciplinary work focuses on the construction of one's own identity through play and toys, using his love experience as a base. For him, it is important to unite the everyday with the transcendental, and to create a process that goes from the personal to the universal. His work is composed of drawings, objects, videos, performances and installations, and seeks to show the silent catastrophes of ordinary people.In short, José Antonio Vallejo is an artist from Madrid whose artistic project in progress, Mi juguete favorito, is nourished by his own experience and emotions. He currently develops his drawing in different series, where he tells the adventures of his characters (teddy bear, robot, inflatable doll, mannequin, puppet, ghost, piñata, etc ...) hiding his true self, in an escape and hiding against the prejudices of modern society.
