José María Baez - Untitled
Technique: Oil on cut and pasted paper
Artist Biography: José María Baez is an artist born in Jerez, Cádiz in 1949 and a resident of Córdoba since 1960. In 1980, he received the New Expressive Forms Grant from the Ministry of Culture and has been awarded several prizes, including the Navarra de Pintura 1995 and the Martínez Guerricabeitia 1994.Baez's work is characterized by his constant exploration of the depth and mystery of color, which places him within the modern pictorial tradition. His work is based on the audacity of accepting the strength and simplicity of color fluctuations that affect our perception and evoke natural sensations. His images retain the viewer, generating a connection and a time of reception. His work has been exhibited in important national collections and has participated in numerous exhibitions in Spain and France. In addition, he has made interventions in public spaces highlighting his ephemeral mural in the Cloister of the Centre del Carme, IVAM in Valencia and his intervention in the Roman Bridge in Cordoba. "I always tried to ensure that the quotations were evocative, without being descriptive. They should not be excessively explicit or conventional, they should have metaphorical capacity and often refer to the very specificity of painting," explains the artist José María Báez.Measurements unframed Price of the work framed The work is framed
