Artist Biography: João Motta Guedes, explores concepts of freedom, vulnerability and violence, his artistic productions reflect on the meaning of feeling and being human. His projects stem from the personal and academic experience that led him to complete his Degree in Law in 2018, and in 2020, the Master's at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. In 2019, he decided to direct his academic research towards the intersection of the artistic discipline, and he was finishing his Masters in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. His artistic language, in various forms and plastic media, has an experimentalist nature. Through a poetic language, it seeks to question artistic creation as an act of freedom that responds to the problem of violence, both in the relationship with society and with each individual, leaving a comprehensive record of images that contain both symbolic and metaphorical meanings, at the waiting to be interpreted by each spectator. Since 2018, he has been a researcher at the Foundation for Science and Technology in the project "COSMOS - COSMOPOLITISM: justice, democracy and citizenship without borders".Sometimes it is necessary to think of a loop that is eternally capable of alternation (of surprise), that is, to think of it as it truly is - a shape that curves and intersects itself or a feedback system where the principle is just linked to the end, and vice versa. In this sense, only the extremes are absolute, never the infinite digressions of the journey.
This work includes a certificate of authenticity. A certificate of authenticity is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the authentication value of the work of art. The certificate may be signed by the author of the work, by the representing gallery or by the printmaker who collaborated with the artist on the work.
The information usually included in a certificate of authenticity is: name of the artist, details of the work (title, date, support, dimensions) and an image of the work.
- Keep works of art away from direct sunlight and any other source of heat (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging works of art near smoky and polluted areas (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We advise you to protect the paintings with a glass frame.
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature. It is recommended to keep the paintings in areas with an ambient temperature of between 18-20º and 50% relative humidity.
- If the work is to be permanently illuminated, we recommend the use of cold light bulbs. Use a soft feather duster for periodic cleaning of the work. Never use household cleaner.
